Love and Marriage

All over the world people celebrate marriage differently. I learn how wedding can be different depend on the country. The world came fron the ancient Greek and it mean pledge. To wed is to pledge yourself to another person. Wedding are different from countries.
The wedding I think is interresting is the Germain Wedding.

When a girl is born, in her honor, several trees are planted . when she get ready to married and her wedding is set the trees are sold. The money is used for her dowry.
The celebration can take place in three days. The first day, we have the civil part with intime family and friends. The second day is for friends family and neighboors with big party. At the end the third day is for the religious ceremony. This is a big ceremony with flowers girls, bridesmaid best man an etc..

In Haiti the celebration of the weeding is long. It can last for 2 hours and half, depends on the preson who are marrying. They have one or two choirs to sing in the ceremony. The celebrant read some verse in the bible. Then the pastor or the priest have to blessed the couple. People have a supertition . They believe that if it raining in the day of your wedding you going to have a wonderful marriage. Your life will be blessed. It is not all the people who believe in the religious ceremony. Some people just do the civil part.

This story I think that was interresting. what do you think? Tell me if you have something interesting about wedding tradition in your country.

the lab

I went to the reading writing lab this week, it was fun. I learn so many things about food. How to keep them fresh and healthy. I had so many quizzes in this lab that I think it was weird. Those exercises keep me awake, cause most of the time the reading writing lab made me sleepy. I enjoy my time at the lab today. In some quiz, I don't know if it real or not I learn about the serving of food. For example a box of macaroni and chesse is for eight servings. That's ......... I can even find the right word.

yeah. I hope you guys have a good week-end.
take care.

The spirit of family

In Haiti we don't celebrate Thanksgiving as in America but we have something special.

The January 1st we have a special holiday. It is family day. We can really feel the spirit of love and happiness. We celebrate this holiday all the family together, after we visit our grand aunt, or others relatives.

In the menu we have a special " Giromon soup". Early at the morning we prepare the soup, then the family meet and we eat it. Most of the time the family went out to visit the other that couldn't be present. The whole day is part of the activity.
I like the idea of Thanksgiving It remind me my January first in my country. Both are similar ,the difference is the time. The thanksgiving is a special dinner and the other one is special lunch.

I enjoyed sharing this information with you guys.
Happy thanksgiving to everybody.
